"Set you on fire because I'm on fire"
I recently graduated with my Psychology degree, with minors in Neuroscience and Philosophy, and my wife and I live in Southern Brooklyn, NY. I first began writing poetry about 18 years ago in hardcore punk bands and have continually attempted to develop my style.
Other than writing, I began taking guitar lessons at age 12 and played in jazz ensemble in high school. I have also taught myself to have a working competence at playing cello.
I am highly interested in various subtopics within neurobiology and neuroscience. For instance, the topic of sensation vs. perception holds a great deal of wonder due to the fact that it helps illuminate the true nature of the world as opposed to how we experience it. I also spent an extended time learning about fear conditioning in rats, which can be roughly translated to human conditioning. I am fairly certain that, if I were to explore a career in research, my niche would be in studying non-human behavior and cognition as I have studied the vocalizations of monk parakeets in the past.
In philosophy, my primary interests are in epistemology and logic. I also am exploring the possibility of delving more into the ongoing debate regarding the supposed "unity of consciousness."
